L is for Luang Prabang
In 2002, we visited Laos, including a couple of nights in Luang Prabang, which became a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1995. It has historic temples, a beautiful mountain setting and the confluence of the Nam Khan and the Mekong Rivers below.
For more on this holiday, see B is for Bangkok – we stayed there on the way in and out of Laos – and V is for Vientiane.
What a coincidence I also did V is for Vientiane

Beautiful photos! The Global Recipe Project is seeking an authentic recipe from Laos, as part of a fundraiser cookbook to benefit global food self-sufficiency programs. I hope you will consider donating a recipe to this worthy cause! Details at http://crowdedearthkitchen.com/global-recipe-project/. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. 🙂

That looks a worthy project, butI’m afraid I don’t have any recipes.

I believe my dear friend was there last year. The last picture-is that a temple inside a cave?? It is so beautiful and the reclining Buddha is so famous-amazing to see

Yes, it’s a temple inside a cave. There was another one even deeper into a cave but we didn’t get any decent photos.

Strangely, I have been to Laos but not Vietnam or Cambodia. Still on that list!
