What a fun Wully this is, and right in time for the festive season. 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Anabel and I wish you and John a fantastic New Year. May 2020 bring everything you desire, especially when it involves gallivanting.
Hehe.
I found the book by chance, and it’s full of the recipes my mum used to make. I’ve been itching to try a few out on T, if only to help him understand how bad my childhood culinary experiences actually were.
At the moment I’ve got it open at the Black Bun page and have realised I’m too late to make one for this Hogmanay.
I hated it too. But I wondered (as I do with many childhood foods) whether it’s the dish I hated, or just my mother’s version of it. Cooking really isn’t her superpower, and she was the queen of ingredient substitution. I’m hoping Ma Broon will help me figure this out.
Nollaig Chridheil, dear Anabel & Bliandha Mhath Ur! May 2020 be a year of new interesting discoveries for you & your brave friends! All the best, health & prosperity!
It was great! 🙂 🙂 Over so quickly, though! How about you? Plans for 2020?

Glad to hear it! We had a good time too. No solid plans for 2020 yet, but something will turn up – it usually does!

That’s a braw jersey Anabel. Hope you’re having an enjoyable Christmas.
Thanks for the glimpse of Wullie. You’ve reminded me I have a Broons cookbook I was going to try out.

Black bun! There’s a thing. Not had that for years – and I’ve not missed it either …

Let’s just say that in her world the pineapple in sweet and sour pork could be subbed out for any tinned fruit.
