April Squares: Shenandoah
Like yesterday’s photograph, this one is from 2014’s trip to Virginia and West Virginia. Here I am on top of the world at a lookout along the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.

I’ve been there! Haven’t traveled very much in my life, but I went there in 2012.
I used to live in Fredericksburg VA, and it was not that far away. I think it was about an hour and a half or 2 hour drive from my house. So, I have a few photos from the Shenandoah mountains too. Beautiful place to visit!

Thanks for visiting! We visited Fredericksburg, or at least the battlefield, on our first visit to Virginia.

What a great view. Looks like a bit of a climb but well worth the incredible views.

I’ll let you into a secret – it wasn’t that far off the road!

Always the best way to get those epic photos isn’t it? Tough climbs aren’t as good as they are cracked up to be.

Indeed! The trouble with Shenandoah is that the road runs along the ridge, so all the hikes start by going down and you have to climb back up when you’re tired.

You daredevil 🙂 It is a lovely view, and you are colour coordinated with your surroundings!

I hadn’t thought about colour coordination, but I suppose I am. That was my go-to summer travel wardrobe, a collection of fairly neutral items that would all go together. Probably still in the back of the cupboard.

I meant your outfit was colour coordinated with the environment. Made the photo look great. Not sure it would’ve looked so good if you had been wearing red. Just an observation 🙂

No, I know what you meant – I was just elaborating!
