April Squares: Snowy Range
Today’s square top is still in the USA, but from a different trip – in 2016 we visited Wyoming and Colorado. It’s also John’s turn to be in the spotlight! Here he is feeling on top of the world on our first hike in Wyoming’s Snowy Range.

It’s nice when folks that come from abroad actually take the time to “see” America. Sometimes I feel like the world only views the U.S. as being NYC, LA, and Vegas. There is SO much more to us than that!

I know, I feel the same about Scotland which is often just seen as Edinburgh and the Highlands. I like the lesser known places and we have probably seen parts of the US that most Americans haven’t!

Me too, Anabel. That’s why we have spent so much time in Aberdeenshire recently. Gotta see it before everyone else discovers how beautiful it is!

Likely breathtaking views, again, Anabel. One of your comments speaks volumes on how you wish you would have had more time there. Thank you for sharing.

I feel that in so many places. Can hardly remember any where we thought “hmm, booked too many nights here”.

That looks very rugged. Was there a walking path or did you just have to find your way?

No, there was a good path but at this saddle it was very rocky with the various paths leading off from it. We went back the way we came – the alternative would have been climbing the ridge and walk-in along the top of it. No way!

I think you made a good decision there. 🙂

I’ve probably driven through, but don’t think I’ve ever done any hiking around there. Nice view and good to see John!

We thought it was lovely. It’s always a gamble planning a route from 1000s of miles away but usually we end up wishing we had longer everywhere we go, and this was no exception.

I love road trips across the US. There really is so much to see and do, especially here in the west.
