WalkingSquares: Stockingfield Bridge

I was walking on the canal again yesterday, this time with friends, and what a gorgeous day it was, defying the gloomy weather forecast. The reflections of the new Stockingfield Bridge were amazing and we were able to get onto the central viewing platform for the first time, from which the second image was taken.
In fact, I was back up there with John today so expect more to come. Stockingfield Bridge is a gift that keeps on giving.

Fabulous! And I love that you got the swans in too.

I was through that road tunnel underneath the bridge recently on a bike and it is pretty dodgy for locals on foot to walk through. A relic from another age when health and safety was less of an issue.

It is slightly better now it has traffic lights – until it floods, which it is prone to doing! The bridge will be a big help for pedestrians and cyclists.

Thank you! The bridge looks great at any time, but in sunshine it’s even more fabulous.

Those bridge photos are stellar! Isn’t it great when the weather surprises in a good way? That’s the kind of walk I had today.
