I suppose the holiday of a lifetime for us was Galapagos in 1999. I felt nothing could top that, but there was a sort of pressure from friends who wanted to know what on earth we were going to do next. For a few years, I felt obliged to try to do something spectacular each year to keep up my reputation. Now we have more or less settled on visits to various North American National Parks (partly because my husband, John, earns a lot of air miles and it’s easy to spend them that way) – I think we could do that for ever and not repeat ourselves.
So, what’s in the blog? Well, lots of current stuff and I’m also trying to catch up retrospectively. I’ve written, for example, about the holiday where a good portion of my photos showed digging equipment (Tibet 2000), and I plan to write about the place where I spent two weeks in a stookie having broken two bones in my foot. You’ll have to wait to find out where that one is. It’s not all exotic though – there are plenty of good places closer to home and I tell you about those too. So please – come along for the journey.
