SquaresRenew 15: Titanica

In front of the Titanic Belfast building which I showed you yesterday is Titanica, a bronze sculpture by Rowan Gillespie depicting a diving female figure. She evokes the design of figureheads on ships’ prows, and is meant to represent hope and positivity. Titanica was dedicated by representatives of the Anglican, Catholic, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches on 27 March 2012. She thus adds another example of hopeful renewal to the Spire of Hope and the Beacon of Hope already featured.
Part of Becky’s SquaresRenew Challenge, using images from our April 2024 trip to Northern Ireland to illustrate one or more of the following:
- Move forward
- Reconstruct
- Renew
- Burgeoning

Lots of interesting symbols of hope and renewal.

I really like this, such a strong sense of movement – and movement forwards at that, perfect for Becky’s theme 🙂
