Simply Red: Transport Edition

Edinburgh Sightseeing Bus

Becky is running her Squares challenge this month with the theme Simply Red. Rather than contribute daily I shall do so in bursts! Today’s first effort is based on transport by road, rail and water – I couldn’t find anything by air. Locations are in captions.

A bonus section – two National Transport Trust plaques.

The cyclist

And as a final bonus, the transport is not red but the cyclist definitely is!

John at Kielder Water

That’s nearly a whole month’s worth of squares in one post! At least one more to come though.

  1. A good variety there and all in sunshine. Is that an electric bike or a normal one? Whatever it is I can’t believe John’s enthusiasm or distance travelled. Some are bike runs I did 20 years ago for fun but would never contemplate doing them now … unless a firing squad persuaded me. I must have the wrong batteries in me! Bob. BSS.

  2. Wow. I guess a lot of things are red, when one goes through their photo archive. Although, I doubt I’d find many reds in my South America folders. It’s definitely not a popular car color here, but I have seen some old timer trucks in that color.

  3. Yes, I’m opting for ‘bursts’ of squares too 🙂 It’s a great idea to put together a transport collection like this, it seems to be a quite commonly used colour. I recognised the Beamish tram immediately!

    • He he, perhaps I will book a flight and charge it back to Becky 😉! Actually, I must have some Virgin balloon pictures deep in the archives, which I hadn’t thought of till now, because we did a flight once for John’s birthday, but I was just relying on what was easily to hand still on my phone’s camera roll.

  4. Some great examples of red here, I particularly like the plaques and the water ones especially Wee Spark and Seahorse. Was John’s outfit specially for the photo or was it coincidental?
