Linn Park
Glasgow has over 90 parks and gardens apparently – we use the Botanic Gardens all the time and, to a lesser extent, Kelvingrove, but sometimes it’s nice to explore one a bit further from home. Linn Park is on the South Side of the city and there’s an attractive circular walk along the banks of the White Cart Water. There is also a possible detour to the hill, Court Knowe, from which Mary Queen of Scots allegedly watched the Battle of Langside in 1568.
This is the third time we have done this walk, but the other twice were in spring or summer. Today was cold, not particularly bright and very muddy under foot, and there were also many fallen trees to negotiate after the recent storms. We still enjoyed ourselves though.
