Benches with a view

Jude is looking for benches with a view for April’s Bench Series challenge. Having just come back from the Lake District, I could supply them in abundance – although I think the view of Elterwater above has to be the star. Just a few more, one from Holehird Gardens and two from Grasmere.
You can tell by my smile that a) I was enjoying myself despite b) the firmly zipped up anorak hinting at the cold, wet weather we had for most of the week. The trip will, I’m sure, produce much more blogging – but not till after the A to Z Challenge is over!
I am SO overdue a visit to the Lakes 😦

I love it there – before it gets too busy for the summer!

It’s beautiful in a not quite wild slightly manicured way.

If it hadn’t been cold and wet most of the time, we could have too!

Love them all but the one from the gardens is my favorite!

Those gardens were beautiful. We hadn’t heard of them, just saw a sign and thought we’d go in at the end of the day. Definitely a discovery!

Is that snow on them there hills? I love the view of Elterwater, but I don’t know that one! The Lakes are so beautiful. I returned for a week last year after decades – I can understand now why people return year after year. And there are pleny of benches with views 🙂

It is snow on them there hills! We got caught up in some of it last week. Had about a 20 year gap when I didn’t vist the Lakes but am a regular visitor now. Just a couple of hours down the motorway.

Oh, but you have all that gorgeous Scottish landscape to enjoy – lochs, beaches, mountains, rivers.

We enjoy that too, but a change of scene is always good.

Having had rain, sleet and hail last week we’ve come home to a glorious weekend! A lovely walk this afternoon – t-shirt weather.

I think you’re right! The lake is so peaceful – and that was the one day of our holiday totally without rain. Or sleet or hail….
