January Light: advent

On Christmas Eve we took a stroll to the nearby area of Scotstoun and its “Living Advent Calendar”. Each evening, one more window appeared thanks to backlight – the ingenuity and variety was amazing! Here’s window number 2 for day 2 of Becky’s January Squares Challenge: words ending in light. Follow the link to find out more!

Better than chocolate advent calendars, I’d say, speaking as a person who just had a Christmas with too much chocolate.

Much healthier (especially with a walk to get round all the windows)!

What a fun way for the community to join together. It must take some organising to have everyone ready on time.

Yes, it must. I’ve seen a few behind-the-scenes videos on Facebook and some of the preparations were very complex.

There are a couple of Window Wanderlands throughout the year but this is the first I’ve seen linked to advent. Great idea!

I think number 2 was one of the best, but they were all good. I’ll probably have forgotten by December though!

You could use one of these windows for at least 24 days of Becky’s challenge, Anabel 🙂 🙂 They do look lovely!

I could. However, I have had the brilliant wheeze of saving them for a Blog Advent Calendar in December!

I never seem to manage to write anything much in December, so that would be perfect. Very pleased with myself 😁.

I am going to check this out. I am a fiend for advent calendars and the ones without the chocolate since I grew up with the German Advent calendars

Well, if you wait 11 months, I have the brilliant idea of using these photos to create an Advent Calendar on my blog this year!

I think there are pictures on the Tannahill Centre’s Twitter feed. I was working in FP at the end of last year hence I knew about it.

What a brilliant idea . .great way to get people out and about in their local community and loving the fact that backlight is a recurring theme today!

Isn’t it? Apparently a lot of friendships have been made. On the Sunday before Christmas they had a carol singing tour, but we decided to wait till the 24th when all the windows were lit up.

You are doing a very good job of selling Glasgow to me . . . I think I will have words with MrB about adding it to our list of places to live!
