January Light: Kelvin bridges
Today’s theme is lamplight, specifically on bridges over Glasgow’s River Kelvin. Above is one of the lamps from Kirklee Bridge. Below are two views of Kelvinbridge, in daylight and at twilight.
Finally, the most ornate bridge is probably the one on the Kelvin Way near Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery. Some additional streetlight on show here too.

Linked to Becky’s January Squares challenge – words ending in light.
PS Apologies to anyone disappointed because they thought my title was Kevin Bridges 😉.

Interesting. I used to use the River Kelvin and a bridge as my screen saver. Must see if I can find it again.

There are several nice bridges. I walk along the Kelvin a lot. It’s not a quick way of getting anywhere, but it’s more pleasant than the roads.

Obviously just a UK thing then! Not in the Billy Connolly league yet.

Always reminds me of Italian bridges those statues as many bridges there have giant figures adorning them in similar fashion. Kelvingrove is very much Indian and Italian influenced, which makes it so special.

Beautiful bridges and lamps like that are so rare here in the U.S. Lovely photos! (Should I know Kevin Bridges?)

We do seem to have some rather splendid bridges! Kevin Bridges is a Scottish comedian, very well known in the UK but maybe not elsewhere.

How fabulous . . . must admit I didn’t think Kevin or Kelvin. I had Ken in my mind as I have a cousin called Ken Bridges!!!

Can’t vouch for it now, but it was excellent when we stayed there three years ago. The owners retired and sold it. So if your cousin’s ever in New Galloway it might be worth a punt 😉!

I suspect ill health will prevent him getting there, but definitely going to mention it to him ☺️

Do the first ones light up still or now just on show? I love the lights and these bridges look so beautiful to see in person

Me too! I prefer the simpler ones – I think Kelvingrove goes a bit OTT.

Thank you! I’ll confess my husband took that one on his camera. The rest were just me and my phone.
