April Squares: Over the Edge
I know a lot of people found the view through the glass floor at the top of the Calgary Tower disturbing – I apologise to those people, because they are not going to like today’s post much either! Here we are on the highest swing in Europe, Over the Edge, at the top of the A’DAM Tower in Amsterdam. If you’re not totally spooked, you can see more of the swing on my post about Amsterdam-Noord.
Linked to Becky’s #SquareTops challenge.

Anabel, The last time I stood on a glass floor was in Toronto, the CN Tower. I felt (pretty) safe. I don’t mind Gondolas. I am not a fan of Swings. Anxiety attack just looking at your photo.

Oh dear, I’m sorry! This was much better than climbing a big mountain though.

Rather you than me , although the view must be spectacular!

Could have been a clearer day but, yes, it was pretty spectacular!

Love to have a go on that although I suspect Jo wouldn’t like it at all. Looks amazing.

It was – slight trepidation beforehand, but we enjoyed it.

This is so cool!! I would love to have a go. I’m assuming you are strapped in somehow.

Yes, there was a safety bar at the front. When we moved backwards we slid towards the bar so we had to have a lot of faith in it!

The young man taking the photos was obviously practised in getting his shots!

Indeed looks a bit scary. Pierre would probably have done it but I am not certain if I would have…Lovely view though. (Suzanne)

I seem to remember that post – not sure I’d take the ride … but can see people feeling distinctly queasy … let alone those on the ride! Guess it was worth it … no ickyness here!!! Hilary

No queasiness, though I wasn’t too keen when the swing went backwards and I slid forwards. Had to really trust the safety bar!

Hi. I was in Amsterdam a few years ago. I’m not sure which part of the city this is in. Is it not far from the main train station? Anyway, I’m heading to google maps to find out.

It’s over the river from the station – you get a ferry just behind it.
