April Squares: Eoligarry
Usually, either John or I is standing “on top of the world” in these posts. Today we are replaced by cows! This is from a walk round the Eoligarry peninsula on Barra a couple of years ago. We climbed to the remains of Dun Sgurabhal, an Iron Age fort, with views to beaches on all sides. Seemingly, at least one of the cows below was resentful at sharing the space.
I’ve decided that these last four days of Becky’s #SquareTops challenge will all be from Scotland’s beautiful islands. I’ll really miss that scenery this year.

Absolutely beautiful!

I really liked those photos! There’s something about the gorgeous scenery with cows in in that’s just so peaceful.

Yes, apart from the one giving us a hard stare, they were just peacefully minding their own business.

I remember your trip to Barra and the photographs of the castle. The lockdown can’t last forever Anabel.

No, but I’m not seeing any end in view soon 😟.

Even with cows in the way, the view is gorgeous. I’m not keen on cows, so I would have stayed well away.

We’ve had run-ins with cows elsewhere, but these were quite placid.

That looks special. Rocky summit for cattle- not the most graceful of animals stepping between boulders and holes in the ground.

No idea when you might get to see the islands again, Anabel? It’s all guesswork, isn’t it? 😦 Mum ok?

No idea at all! Not soon. However, we are all well, thanks, so can’t complain (too much).

Ah, Scottish coos. You are definitely getting the LOOK from that last one. Great views and I shall enjoy the next four days in Scotland with you 😊

We definitely are getting the look! The cheek of us wanting to see the view.

Those Scottish cows get everywhere don’t they? So many times we’ve been walking in the Highlands or Cairngorms and suddenly seen a cow perched up high in some seemingly impossible-to-reach place.

Must have been good grass up there. It wasn’t very high, but it was quite steep so i envied them their four legs!

Such a good idea to end with Scotland. And the cows on top of the world, are amazing!

These cows were lovely. Others we have met, not so much! I had more photographs left than days, so sticking to Scottish islands made the choice for me.

What a lush green! I like the first picture a lot because of the perspective.

Love the cows who seem to have quite the personality in these photos. Now…time to catch up.

They do! Fortunately Barra cows seemed relatively placid unlike the ones we met on Islay the next year.
