WalkingSquares: out on the tiles

Stockingfield Bridge tiles

We were away last week, and when we got back I lost no time in walking up to the new bridge at Stockingfield to see what progress had been made in our absence. The main thing I noticed is that the base of the mast supporting the bridge is now decorated with some of the tiles made in community workshops led by ceramacist Louise Nolan. Here are some close ups – fabulous!

  1. Hi Anabel – what a fun idea to add in the ceramic tiles – and great they’re involving the local community too … I’m looking forward to see more as and when new projects get up and running – cheers Hilary

  2. Very nice. I remember thinking, viewed from a distance that the main spike sticking up would make a powerful weapon for impaling tripping giants if the need ever arises. Fortunately they all died out a long time ago.
