Gallivanting at home and abroad. Words by me, photos (mainly) by him.
It’s great to watch but I would never want to have a go at doing this.

I’m certain it is very dangerous but they also know what they are doing. They must have no problem eating suicide wings

My thoughts exactly – but they seemed to know what they were doing.

I love watching fire dancers and we have come across them quite often in our travels… Thailand, India, come to mind right away. Kind of beautiful and hypnotic.

My son plays with fire sticks, I’ve tried ’em (not lit) and it’s fun.

I think I’d be quite scared handling the fire in the picture! They have impressive control.

The thing with fire sticks is that they are made of lightweight metal and really well balanced. You sort of only really swing one end in a figure of 8 around you from one side to the other. It’s fun and the fuel isn’t scary spitty stuff, but that you do have to have someone on stand by.

A dangerous occupation but mesmerising to watch.

It’s a very strange thing to do I always think, but I love watching!
