Very Art Deco! I hope this isn’t being destroyed.

It isn’t genuinely Art Deco, it was built while I was there, possibly mid 90s. I did see one set of plans at an early stage in which it was to be demolished, but I don’t know what they are thinking now. Not hopeful.

Such a shame. Though I suppose it doesn’t match the rest of the architecture. But then what sort of new-builds are they designing?

Actually, what you can’t see is the previous development on the other side of the main drive. Some years ago, they sold off the edges of the campus. The houses built at the back are very conventional but the ones near the Principal’s house are white townhouses / apartment blocks which do match reasonably well. Except this is Glasgow. They all have damp stains! No idea what they will do next – it’s a highly desirable area so I’m sure it won’t be the affordable housing the city needs.
