January Light: all the fun of the fair

Gallivanting in my home city and further afield. Words by me, photos (mainly) by him. The good ones anyway!

I’d have a go on this ride. Was it spinning very fast?

Quite fast! You’re the first person to say you would do it.

So pretty! But I’m a little too afraid of heights to ride something like that myself!

Seems no one wants to take that ride!

Great photo, so clear. Not sure I’d go on the ride though, bit of a wimp when it comes to being spun around and hoisted up and down quickly.

I’ve been on those sorts of chair rides lower down but I don’t fancy the height either.

Nice clear photo. Hard to get with a spinning object.

True! Glad you like it.

Like Janis, I would have gone on this ride when I was younger and not thought twice about it. Now? Not so much!
Awesome photo!

I think that view is unanimous – no commenter wants to go up there!

I probably would have gone on that when I was much younger, but not now. The thrill wouldn’t be worth the nausea or anxiety. Nice picture, though!

Perhaps next year we’ll try it – or not!

No not for me either. I notice the Scott Monument. I will be joining the Photographs Club here when they meet at the end of the month and I believe they too do things like this. Should be interesting – well that’s “Plan A” anyway..

Sounds like a good plan A!

Nice lights on the bottom of the seats too, they look very high up!

Very! That’s why I kept my feet firmly on the ground.

I would be standing right by your side 😊

Has anyone said they would go on it?!!

Not so far! Though John might have if I hadn’t been reluctant.

I don’t think you’d catch me up there!

Me neither!

That’s a cool shot. I would never go on that ride:)

No – we stayed firmly on the ground too.

Hi. Is this in Old Town?

It’s the New Town, Neil – Princes Street. That’s the Scott Monument sneaking in at the left hand side.

Hi Anabel – just about to go quickly back through your other January Lights … but this looks fun – though it wouldn’t be for me! Great idea though … cheers Hilary

It’s fun, but I wouldn’t like to do it too often!

A great photo but NO WAY would anyone get me to go on that!

I was happy to look up from below too!
