April Squares: Forth Bridge
Todays post is a flashback to September 2017 when we ascended to the viewing platform on top of the Forth Bridge as part of a charity event. Below is the “official” photograph of us to prove we were there. I can’t crop that, because it would spoil it, but we do look as though we have that “top of the world” feeling.
Linked to Becky’s #SquareTops challenge. I suggest you pop over today to wish her happy birthday!

One day they will have a proper visitor centre up there. Till then, you’ll need to time it with a charity event!

That’s one place they should open up for tourist groups like the Sydney Harbour Bridge tours. Missing a trick there. I was all set to go up The University of Glasgow spire when it briefly opened for visitors then they pulled the plug on it for some reason, probably health and safety related.

They have been talking about opening up the bridge for ages, and I think a planning application went in last year, but of course everything like that has been overtaken by events.

I have no head for heights, but I would love to experience that view. Maybe one day if it is open to the public.

With my liking for climbing various towers and lighthouses this would be just up my street 🙂 I’d love to do the Sydney harbour bridge but sadly I’m never likely to ever get to Australia to do it 😦

Like others, I didn’t know one could have access to the Forth Bridge. I’m sure it was a wonderful experience. I did the Sydney Bridge when I was there (and my head for heights was OK) but the Forth looks more ‘doable’. Lovely picture of you and John.

It was great, Mari. I hope they get the proposed visitor centre off the ground (ha!) after all this is over. I’m sure it would be very successful.
