April Squares: Forth Bridge

Todays post is a flashback to September 2017 when we ascended to the viewing platform on top of the Forth Bridge as part of a charity event. Below is the “official” photograph of us to prove we were there. I can’t crop that, because it would spoil it, but we do look as though we have that “top of the world” feeling.

Linked to Becky’s #SquareTops challenge. I suggest you pop over today to wish her happy birthday!

  1. That’s one place they should open up for tourist groups like the Sydney Harbour Bridge tours. Missing a trick there. I was all set to go up The University of Glasgow spire when it briefly opened for visitors then they pulled the plug on it for some reason, probably health and safety related.

  2. With my liking for climbing various towers and lighthouses this would be just up my street 🙂 I’d love to do the Sydney harbour bridge but sadly I’m never likely to ever get to Australia to do it 😦

  3. Like others, I didn’t know one could have access to the Forth Bridge. I’m sure it was a wonderful experience. I did the Sydney Bridge when I was there (and my head for heights was OK) but the Forth looks more ‘doable’. Lovely picture of you and John.

  5. Oh wow! Love this bridge. I didn’t know you could go to the top. Putting it on my list for next trip. Hubby isn’t so keen. Too bad. I’ll go on my own … as I did in Sydney and Brisbane.

    • At the moment you can only go as part of a specific event like this one. There have been plans for a proper walkway and visitor platform for years, but nothing has come of it yet, and of course everything will have been setback by recent events. We’ve done the Sydney one too and enjoyed it.
