Advent Day 2: Antlers
On Christmas Eve 2019 we took a stroll to the nearby area of Scotstoun to view its Living Advent Calendar. Each evening in December, one more window had been illuminated. On the 24th, we got to see them all.
Number 2 featured this magnificent stag with his fabulous antlers and red nose. Hello Rudolph!

What a great idea the Living Advent is. I wonder if I could talk my neighbours into doing one next year? It would be intriguing to see what everyone came up with!

Window trails are becoming really popular in Glasgow, though this is the only Advent one I know of.

It’s lovely, especially when you get several on one street.

Not only is Rudolph very artistic, but they did a marvelous job on the snowflakes and other images on the sides of the bay window. That must have taken a lot of time.

Yes, it’s impressive that a lot of people haven’t just decorated their main window but have all sorts of supplementary details too.

I remember seeing that one myself on foot. A good display.

Yes, and they’ve started again. Might get down there some night later in the month.

That window is beautiful. It’s not easy taking photos at night. This photo came out great.

I love this one with the “stained glass” landscape, the antlers, snowflakes, stars and hollies. So are these on individual houses throughout the town? I guess the owners made the “stained glass” with tissue paper? So charming and creative. 🙂

These are individual houses in quite a compact area, so not too many streets to wander in search of them. I think lots of tissue paper, card and masking tape are involved, though one later on uses computer projection. There are some very inventive windows coming up!
