Note the little blue figure cowering from the wind!
While in Aberdeenshire last month we climbed Mither Tap, one of several small peaks close to where we were staying which are collectively known as Bennachie (say Ben-a-HEE). From the top, we should have had extensive views of Aberdeenshire farmland below us, but the Scottish weather had other ideas. It was both misty and “blowin’ a hoolie”.
A hill I’ve always wanted to climb but for one reason or another never managed. Can’t win them all. Pity it was misty as it’s an interesting summit with great views.
Who us that guy who does not look happy?

I have no idea! He photobombed us.

Sometimes the weather has its own ideas, and they don’t cooperate with ours!

I like the little blue ‘gnome’ in the background – was the wind really that bad? 🙂

It really was quite bad. Hard to stay upright but we, as you can see, made the effort!

Yes, it was lovely later in that day! We should have waited.

“Blowin’ a hoolie!” I love this – and now just need to figure out how to use this appropriately! 😀

Opportunities to use it are fairly routine in Scotland!

It does look a little bleak up there.

I’d get a quick picture of myself at the top, then join little blue figure out of the wind 🙂 Yes, I am a wimp.

Well, I confess we didn’t linger too long!

Oh dear. Frustrating to go to all the effort of walking up there and not be rewarded with the view.

Just have to go back!

We’ve had a lot of the “blowin’ a hoolie” around here this week.

A bit wild in Glasgow too! Fortunately we missed it.

Nice to see Bennachie, if nothing else! I know a rather dodgy version of an old Bothy Ballad named ‘At the Back of Bennachie’. Best not to ask!

Ha ha – best not! You can tell me next week.
