Yes, most of our local parks do not have the colourful seasonal borders they used to have a few years ago when I look back at some of my older posts. Definitely big budget cuts or less planting staff around. Think I read it’s only one squad now going round a bunch of parks for general maintenance work instead of each park having their own planting team. Walled garden at Bellahouston being a really stark bare contrast recently compared to it’s abundant autumn flower borders five or six years ago.

That would explain it – a sad sign of the times. Flowers cheer everyone up.

That does look lovely, although the sky is ominous.

It is a bit, but I don’t remember getting drenched in the way home so the rain must have held off!

A lovely view- still lots of colour, too. I love a good park, such important community spaces.

Yes, this one is very popular. There’s a nice pond behind where I am standing to take this.

It looks really nice Anabel, and probably even more so before the council cuts. It’s very much the same here too, we have some lovely local parks but sadly not all maintained to the standard they once were.

This one used to have fabulous flower beds, now not so much. Same with the Botanic Gardens.

What a beautifully maintained park!

It is, but also it is not a patch on what it used to be. Some of the beds have been filled in and the planting in the others is not so luxuriant. Same old story, council cuts.

Yup, same old, same old. And not going to get better any time soon.
