WalkingSquares: a walk in the park

Taken on a sunny September day in one of our local parks and linked to Becky’s WalkingSquares.

  1. Yes, most of our local parks do not have the colourful seasonal borders they used to have a few years ago when I look back at some of my older posts. Definitely big budget cuts or less planting staff around. Think I read it’s only one squad now going round a bunch of parks for general maintenance work instead of each park having their own planting team. Walled garden at Bellahouston being a really stark bare contrast recently compared to it’s abundant autumn flower borders five or six years ago.

  2. It looks really nice Anabel, and probably even more so before the council cuts. It’s very much the same here too, we have some lovely local parks but sadly not all maintained to the standard they once were.
