April Squares: Ben Venue
And another “top of the world” shot from March 2005, a month when we went hillwalking every weekend. Not typical, I assure you! I look less happy on top of Ben Venue – cold, and clinging on against the wind. But we still had our eyes on the prize – that Very Big Walk Indeed. A story that might some day be told …
Linked to Becky’s #SquareTops challenge.
Would love to read that story. What a spectacular view!

Where’s your beanie? I really dislike strong wind unfortunate as I live on an island!!
I’m sure you have quite a few untold stories Anabel. Some travel photos have a few long stories attached. Usually to do with the weather, getting lost and both losing our patience.

I think I was quite resistant to beanies in those days! Or maybe it was in my pocket. Whichever, my face tells the story …

It does look seriously windy and chilly up there. You were quite the intrepid climber then!

For about 3 months we were amazing! Then it all went downhill … figuratively at least.

I’m getting used to heights now so managed to look at this without a quiver! Great shot.

was thinking it must be cold by your face . . . and the fact you seem to have fleece trousers on!

Yes, they are fleecy lined I think. Probably not the ones I have now because they’d be a size too small, but very similar. The jacket still gets worn though!
