Advent Day 1: Elf on the Shelf

On Christmas Eve 2019 we took a stroll to the nearby area of Scotstoun to view its Living Advent Calendar. Each evening in December, one more window had been illuminated. On the 24th, we got to see them all.

Number 1 declares “I’m back” – can you spot the Elf on the Shelf bottom right, just waiting to get up to mischief?

There’s something very unsettling about the concept of Elf on a Shelf – we’ve been trying to get a Krampus on the Mantle instead, but they keep selling out! At least with Krampus you know exactly where you stand, but you can’t trust those elves!

What a great way to brighten up our Advent season, Anabel. I don’t have an advent calendar I use, so I’ll look forward to your posts every day of the season. πŸ™‚

Not sure I like elves, a creature between evil and cute! The advent calendar is fun, and I remember last years one too.

The elf looks like he might become a gremlin. Love the windows being an advent calendar.
